Kerrang! Awards, Peta, MCR-Pics, Official

Vote for My Chemical Romance at the Kerrang! Awards. I’m thinking they’re only eligible for International Band and Live Band unless we vote “The Black Parade is Dead!” for Best Album. Anyhow, go for it! :)

Speaking of voting, vote for Frank Iero as Peta2’s Sexiest Vegetarian 2008. He’s about 2000 votes ahead but all the more reason to keep voting and make sure he absolutely kills the competition, yeah?

If you’re not all voted out, go visit Shell at MCR-Pics.com and vote for which set you want her to post next.

Wow, three updates from the official site in one day. Ha. Like I need to talk, right?

Off topic, but I missed my UPS delivery today. I bought a bunch of back-issue mags with MCR in them and Reggie and the Full Effect’s new CD/Tee. *sigh* Must track them down tomorrow.

Shell at MCR-Pics.com has put up a poll as to what you want to see for her next update: Live, Events (award shows, etc), or Photoshoot. Go vote! :)

All entries are now up in the archives.

Apparently WP isn’t posting comments. It’ll let you post one, but then it won’t display them. I still have some tweaking to do, apparently.

Welcome to WordPress!

Whoot! We’re now rollin’ in WordPress. The content pages still haven’t been converted, but I’m currently going through and updating them and their information.

For the sake of consistency, I’ve pulled a few updates and put here (see below!) so that whoever hasn’t seen them will see them now, and they won’t have just been lost in the archives.

Archives? Heck yeah. We now have archives. All 310 entries that Kathleen and I have posted since the site opened. My first “Testing” post was done on July 22, 2007. I quit posting and talking to myself about June 27, 2007, so I’m not sure what to call our anniversary. I’ll say July 22nd, because that’s the day the domain got registered and the site actually came online. Whoot!

Speaking of archives, you can see those here: Mikey Way Online Archives. You want to know what’s really cool about those archives? Lauren from Skin Off Our Bones let me republish her archives of Mikey’s old MySpace. That makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Hopefully I’ll be getting the lyrics section up soon, too, which includes Pencey Prep (Frank’s old band) and Leathermouth (Frank’s new band). Those are being donated to Lauren in exchange for Mikey’s blog entries. Those are definitely worth a read. I gained so much more respect for that man afterwards. A lot of people apparently think he’s a douche for posting what he did, but the man stood up for his wife and took the heat for it.

I’ve actually considered putting MWO’s first layout back up; yeah the pretty pink one. It was up and down before I think anybody got a chance to see it. It’s still my favorite layout haha. That won’t be happening for several, several more months. This one’ll stay up at least until (my goal is) September.

Next on Johnnie’s agenda: the Gallery (new layout, getting it back online), Forum (new layout), making the site W3C compliant (all that means is that the site should look fantastic no matter what browser or computer you’re on haha).

So, on the line of that last W3C compliant thing, things will look a little strange. Font sizes may change spur of the moment (that would be me modifying them probably) and just little things like that. Bare with me :D

Honourable Mention

June 10th, 2008 | Kathleen | Comments Off | Email Mikey Way Online!

Rolling Stones recently did a “100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time” and although our boys did not make the actual list, they did make the “honourable mention” list. Rolling Stones posted a “special online bonus” list which included 25 songs that didn’t make the cut and “Welcome To The Black Parade” was on it.

The mascara kings’ lead guitarist Ray Toro has talked about his adoration for Queen’s Brian May, and the title track of their platinum concept album is practically a five-minute elaboration on the solo from “Bohemian Rhapsody”: Toro and Frank Iero’s guitar parts cloned into an emo army, leaping to heroic heights and diving into bombastic glory.

So, claps for them.
