Yesterday I did a fairly good amount of coverage of Gerard at the Scream Awards. Today I bring you more! My homeslice C4 (Buzznet’s kindofadraag) was at the award show and promised me some goodies. She posted her own coverage of the show on Buzznet (see here: Gerard Way on Zombies and Hair Color at the 2008 Scream Awards). If her recap of meeting Gerard doesn’t make you “aww” at least once, then the world must be pretty dark for you. And, I totally agree, his boots are fantastic, though they really should’ve been black. His tie is too cute, though. Makes me want to wear ties despite the fact I can’t tie them. If you want more photos, check out the Buzznet photo gallery of Gerard Way on the red carpet at the 2008 Scream Awards.
Gerard also spoke briefly with the L.A. Times about why comic movies are doing so well.
The people that are making these movies are coming to it with a love of the comics and a respect for them, and I think that’s why the fans are so passionate about these movies,” Way said. “It comes down to the fact that for the first time, it’s fans who are making these movies, and that makes all the difference in the world. It’s not just capes that people like, it’s watching movies made with great ideas and imagination. That’s what makes them fly.
Anyways, here’s some good stuff for you. C4 promised me goodies and, boy, did she not fail. If you like her writing style, you should definitely check out her music blog, Fantastic Weapon. These photos are exclusive to Mikey Way Online and, if you’d like to repost them, I’d appreciate it if you would ask for permission and, when you repost them, please LINK to this website. Thanks
The Scream Awards will air tomorrow, October 21, on Spike TV.
And, while you’re at it, don’t forget to preorder issues 1 and 2 of The Umbrella Academy: Dallas.
