No real news, but My Chemical Romance have been mentioned in a few places across the web.
MySpace has signed with major labels (inluding My Chemical Romance’s parent label, Warner) to make them the hub of music. They will essentially be starting an online store selling official merch, concert tickets, and music. Having been credited as helping bands such as My Chemical Romance skyrocket through social networking, many have issues with the damage it will do to independent music on MySpace.

Joe Franceschi (lead singer of You me At Six) mentioned My Chemical Romance in an interview where he was asked about being labeled “emo”. Francheschi replied, “I think being associated with the term emo and what is surrounding it at the moment, like the scandal with My Chemical Romance in the papers, I think it’s very dangerous for a young up and coming band to get involved with that…”

The soundtrack for Saints Row 2, an action-adventure video game, has been released. My Chemical Romance’s “Teenagers” will be featured on 89 GenX, one of the 11 in-game radio stations, alongside Paramore, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Panic At The Disco, The Subways, and more. Other stations feature bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Joss Stone, Wolfmother, As I Lay Dying, and others.

My Chemical Romance fan Maggie Dunlop, age 13, isn’t just your ordinary fan. She’s the daughter of acclaimed artists (yes, both of her parents are well-respected artists!) William “Bill” Dunlap and Linda Burgess. Her art will be featured in an exhibit next to her parents at The Cedar, a showcase of Mississipi artists. Maggie looks up to Gerard Way as an artist and a musician, saying, “He is the lead singer of a band but he also is an artist. And I think that’s really neat that he does multiple things.” Congratulations, Maggie!

Buzznet has a zombie gallery of red-carpet celebrities and it’s pretty nifty. The following photo is © Buzznet and Buzznet user newageamazon. Do not use or repost PERIOD (yes, I have permission).

Great job finding interesting tidbits, we can always count on Johnnie to brighten our day!
That zombie pix of Mikey is spooky!
I think Myspace has screwed enough of the world, do they really need to start on the music industry? They are all about the advertising dollars, they don’t care about the souls of musicians.

Hello again. Just wanted to clarify, my band’s name is actually Alabaster Phantoms, but at The Battle of the Bands, there was a typo, and they put Twilight Forever instead.
later on this month if you type in Alabaster Phantoms OR Twilight Forever in Youtube, you should be able to find my band. And eventually we will get a myspace music, so you’ll be able to listen to the studio version of our songs.
