Metromix Detroit interviewed a band named Starling Electric. Why do we care?
Caleb Dillon, frontman for the Ann Arbor–based band Starling Electric, has a sense of humor that could best be described as bone-dry. No matter how hard we try to be sarcastic in our questions with him, he can’t be topped. When we asked, for example, if the band’s song “The Black Parade” has any connection to the My Chemical Romance album of the same name, he deadpans, “Yes. We’re best friends with them…we hang out all the time.”

Yet another photo of Gerard Way’s pink/red hair. What’s funny is that Brandi and I were outside those doors (The Centennial Ballroom, for your information) about 1000000 times. Sigh. Thanks Euni!
Mikey and Alicia stopped by Leathermouth and Reggie and the Full Effect gig in New Jersey. Aww

So Hypnagogic States comes out on Tuesday, September 16. Here’s a video of the song that Gerard and Julien-K are remixing. This is NOT the remix, rather The Cure’s official video, the original version of the song.

Didn’t realize this, but we can vote at the Scream Awards…so here’s the links to where you can vote for The Umbrella Academy.

This was posted on the cbox by Toria. Sorry, I thought I had the whole thing, but I don’t
Are you tired of Gerard’s hair yet? I’m not!
And here’s another round of Johnnie’s Random Photos…
Sorry for the quickness. Gotta get back to class!
I’d just like to take a moment to observe the fact that it is September 11th.
I’m only 14, but I remember those seven years ago, America, and the world, were changed forever.
This has nothing to do with politics, it doesn’t matter where we agree or disagree, in the end, all that matters, is that many lives were lost, and many others were changed forever.
I want to say thank you, to all those heroes, the New York Fire Department, Police Department, Hospitals, all those that gave their lives to save others, and every single person that showed their support in the resilience of America.
Thank you.
You’re not in this alone
Let me break this awkward silence
Let me go, go on record
Be the first to say I’m sorry
And in this moment we can’t close the lids on burning eyes
Our memories blanket us with friends we know like fallout vapors
Steel corpses stretch out towards an ending sun, scorched and black
It reaches in and tears your flesh apart
As ice cold hands rip into your heart
That’s if you’ve still got one that’s left inside that cave you call a chest
And after seeing what we saw, can we still reclaim our innocence
And if the world needs something better, let’s give them one more reason now
This broken city sky like butane on my skin
stolen from my eyes
Hello Angel, tell me where are you
Tell me where we go from here
Get My Chemical Romance nominated at the MTV European Music Awards! They’re not on the nomination/voting page, but on the bottom right, you can nominate them yourself. There’s no criteria listed for the categories, so I’m assuming they’d be eligible for “Rock Out”, “Act of 2008″, “Best Act Ever”, “Headliner”, and “Album of the Year” (The Black Parade is Dead!). Thanks Carol! Vote for My Chemical Romance at the MTV European Music Awards
A little photoshoot with Leathermouth was posted up by Rich Gaccione (flickr). Credits to My Chemical Freak
Thanks for the birthday wishes
It’s appreciated. Doing absolutely nada today except going to class, so thank you for brightening my day

Well, Happy Birthday Mikehwai! Johnnie posted another one of her beautiful banners earlier, but I just had to say it for myself.
Now, onward!
Today in the news, we’ve got a review of ‘The Black Parade Is Dead! Right here.
‘Kerrang! The Album’, a compilation CD released [obviously] by Kerrang!, will include ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’ on it. There’s also cuts from Green Day, Kill Hannah, Atreyu, Panic at the Disco, Enter Shikari [If you don't know them, check 'em out], and a TON of others.. See the full tracklisting here.
According to this awesome chick Sadie, Leathermouth has signed with Epitaph.
“Just thought you might wanna know that Frank told me LeATHERMOUTH signed to Epitaph Records. I met him at a LeATHERMOUTH show, and that’s what he said.”
Thanks for that, from mychemicalfreak.com
We’ve also got another awesome link from mychemicalfreak.com, it’s all that is and was My Chem!
Some rather interesting blogs from as far back as 2002, among other things. Totally cool, check it out here.
I’m still on a Ray kick, but as this is Mikeywayonline.net, I figured this would be a perfect balance.
Enjoy.
In celebration of Bad Taste Bear’s 10th anniversary, they’ve teamed up with Rock Sound to give away a Gerard Way Bad Taste Bear. These bears are fun little collectibles with bad attitudes. “The competition is open to UK and Ireland residents only. Overseas players are not eligible,” says the Terms of Service. However, if you want one anyhow, you can purchase a bear from Everything But The Music. Thanks Wendy!
According to a reader at My Chemcial Freak who talked to Frank after a show, Leathermouth has signed to Epitaph Records. This is not confirmed nor denied by Epitaph.
