Gerard Way has been working with Julien K on a remix of “Sleep When I’m Dead” by The Cure. Julien K made the announcement on their MySpace Blog.
Yeah, Gerard, you’re brilliant. It really has been difficult to keep the Watcmen cover underwarps. Would you like to know why? Because your fans are passionate.
My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way Says It’s Been ‘So Difficult’ To Keep ‘Watchmen’ Bob Dylan Cover Under Wraps — MTV Canada
SAN DIEGO – Everybody knows that Zack Snyder thrilled moviegoers with the first “Watchmen” trailer and dropped into Comic-Con to hold what many considered to be the most successful buzz-building panel of the week. Our regular readers also know that we broke the news last week that My Chemical Romance will contribute the only new song to the film’s soundtrack, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Desolation Row.”The one person who doesn’t seem to know that you know, however, is MCR frontman Gerard Way.
“Oh, he did?” the 31-year-old singer said when we told him Snyder had revealed the song to MTV News. “I didn’t even know that!”
Clearly relieved, Way was eager to spill the beans for the very first time: “That’s been so difficult for me to keep under wraps, because ‘Watchmen’ is my favorite comic of all time. So when Zack had asked us to do the song for ‘Watchmen,’ the end-credit song and the single for the movie, we were floored. And when he said it was going to be a Dylan cover that he wanted, that was so amazing.”
The Umbrella Academy is getting more attention now that it’s an Eisner winner. Of course. But we all were there before it was. So ha.
CCI: Morrison & Way Born Under a Dark Sun
Though “The Umbrella Academy” writer Gerard Way has played sold-out shows across the countries as the lead singer of the super-popular band My Chemical Romance, there was a bit of stage fright for the rocker-turned-comics-scribe last weekend at Comic-Con International.“He’s really nervous,” writer Grant Morrison told the crowd.
“I am,” Way admitted.
“There’s no guitars,” Morrison chided.

Comic-Con had some Umbrella Academy action figures on display. They’re not for sale and there’s no guarantee they’ll even be released, but oh well. Brandi has some pictures if you’d like to see them.
Frank has donated a guitar to the Rock Hall of Fame Museum. Don’t know which guitar it is, but as soon as pictures come in, know that they’ll be posted here
(from Brandi)
Speaking of Frank, Leathermouth launched their new site. Not to be blunt or mean, but I’m not too impressed. However, there are some lyrics up there which I’ve already got added to our Lyrics section.
If you haven’t seen it already, I highly recommend going over and giving Brandi and My Chemical Freak a visit. She and I have been working diligently for the past several days completely overhauling her website. Some things still need tweaked so don’t be afraid to drop her a note, or myself for that matter, and we’ll get stuff fixed. Other than that…enjoy the new eye candy
As promised! Random photos!
