It may be possible to get My Chemical Romance nominated at the Video Music Awards. They’re letting fans vote for the nominees this year, and it could be possible for “Teenagers” to be on the list of eligible videos. Just thought I’d give you all the heads up. We’re going to vote like effing crazy, mkay? Voting starts on August 8th so Kathleen or I will let you know if they’re on the list.

And here’s some fun stuff about The Umbrella Academy…
Gerard Way Unfolds His Second ‘Umbrella’ – Publisher’s Weekly Interview
When Dark Horse announced, a couple of years ago, that alt-rock stalwarts My Chemical Romance’s frontman Gerard Way would be writing a superhero comic, there were a few cocked eyebrows: another pop star jumping on the comics bandwagon? But Way had a long history with comics—he’d even been an intern at DC Comics for a while—and The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite, drawn by Gabriel Bá, was eccentric, ambitious and a solid success. At this year’s Comic-Con, Dark Horse announced that Way and Bá would be re-teaming for a second Umbrella Academy miniseries, The Scarecrow Blues, beginning in November. And Way’s got plans for the project far beyond that, he told us.
My Chemical Romance Frontman Gerard Way Trades Concert Stage for Comic Con Booth – MTV
Gerard Way may be one of the biggest rock stars in the world, but that doesn’t stop him from making the annual pilgrimage to Comic-Con. Way — who grew up reading comics, attended art school and interned at DC Comics before forming My Chemical Romance — attended the show to promote his Dark Horse book “The Umbrella Academy”. We’ll be bringing you much more from Way in the coming days, but hear him chat below about the latest from “Academy” as well as his love for all things Comic-Con. ‘What It Is’ Is a Work of True Creative Genius — Mercury News
Some celebs assume they have the talent to do anything, and often they don’t. They take up singing on a whim, pop up on Broadway stages, and lately they’ve been cranking out comics. But here’s some most welcome news: Way, frontman for the band My Chemical Romance, has talent — off-the-hook talent. His auspicious and dark saga about a squabbling superhero family is so polished, it stacks up next to work of pros like Ed Brubaker or Grant Morrison. Complementing Way’s brazen, risk-taking storytelling is Ba’s gleefully hyperkinetic illustrations. Don’t pass this baby up.
SDCC ‘08 – Grant Morrison, Gerard Way Panel — Newsarama
[Gerard] Way told the standing room only audience that [Grant] Morrison had asked to do a panel together in the past. “I was so honored; he was my hero,” Way said. But the My Chemical Romance singer and former DC intern thought he should publish a comic first. See also, Melt Comics, “Grant Morrison, Gerard Way Panel”
SDCC 08: Born Under A Black Sun — IGN.com
At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one of the most well known writers in comics and one of the most well known musicians today sat down to chat with the fans about their unique styles of storytelling. With Gerard Way, the creator of The Umbrella Academy, and Grant Morrison, one of the most established writers in comics today, the audience was in for a treat.
